Craig Brown
Vice President & General Manager, Canada, SFN Group

Craig Brown is Vice President and General Manager of the Canadian operation for SFN Group. Founded in 1946, SFN Group is a leading recruiting and staffing company that provides integrated solutions to meet the evolving needs of companies and job candidates. Craig has responsibility for all staffing units in Canada including Spherion Staffing Services and The Mergis Group.

Craig has held executive positions in the staffing industry in Canada and his recruitment experience spans various disciplines and industries. Prior to the staffing industry Craig held various roles with PetSmart, the largest pet retailer in North America, as they entered the Canadian market. Craig is also heavily involved in youth sports associations and boards including the Alberta Summer Swimming Association, minor basketball, minor hockey and girl's minor hockey.

Craig received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from the University of Calgary.

Bernie Vogel
CA Chief Financial Officer Canada

Bernie Vogel is CFO of the Canadian operations for SFN Group. As CFO of Canadian operations, Bernie is responsible for the financial results of 22 offices across Canada.

Bernie joined the organization in 1999 as controller and has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in finance and in operations. He was a key member of a team of three that formulated the strategic plan and business combination that led to the creation of Spherion in Canada, eventually becoming part of Spherion Corporation.

Bernie came to Spherion from Deloitte & Touche where he was a manager for the National Capital Region in Ottawa, specializing in corporate tax for private and public advanced technology companies. While at Deloitte & Touche, he obtained his chartered accountant designation and completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Program.

Bernie received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, and is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Institutes of Chartered Accountants and the Canadian Tax Foundation. Bernie currently sits on the board of ACSESS (Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services).

Jeff Goplin
Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Canada

Jeff Goplin is Vice President of Sales and Marketing in Canada. As Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Jeff’s responsibility is to lead and coordinate Spherion sales and marketing functions and develop and implement sales and marketing strategy. This includes monitoring and analyzing sales and marketing activity against company goals. Jeff’s responsibility also is to manage and drive the strategic sales pipeline, as well as oversee the retail business development strategy and the marketing function.

His more than 10 years experience in the recruitment industry included responsibility for the management and accountability of strategic sales, client relationships, and on-site operations for an international recruitment firm. He is well networked and sits on a number of advisory boards. Jeff has also volunteered for a number of organizations including: Junior Achievement, Special Olympics, Youth Emergency Shelter, and the World Track & Field Championships.
